Obituary: Marion Francis Robak, 91, Founding Member of St. Francis de Sales Church

Marion Francis Robak, formerly from North Kingstown, RI, currently from Liberty, Texas, died Friday evening April 4, 2014. She had lived in North Kingstown for 62 years, prior to moving to Liberty.

Marion was born on August 2, 1922, in Lanesboro, MA., the daughter of the late James and Grace Drew.

She graduated from St. Joseph’s high school in Pittsfield, and worked at Eaton Crane, in Pittsfield during WWII.

Marion and her late husband, John K. Robak, were married at St. Mark’s church in Pittsfield on August 30, 1945. They lived in Key West, Florida, prior to moving to North Kingstown, RI.

Marion was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales church in North Kingstown, and one of the founding families when the parish started. Marion deeply loved her family and friends, and staying in touch with them through the years. She enjoyed writing, gardening, baking, decorating, and playing the organ.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Kathleen Martinez, of Liberty, Texas, her loving daughter-in-law, Dale Robak, and her loving son, Alan Robak, both of North Kingstown ( formerly, from Uxbridge, MA), six loving grand children, John, Matthew, and Stephen Robak, and Christopher, Robert, and Marion Martinez, and three loving great-grand children, JayTon, S ean Alan, and Traevon Brooks.

A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday April 16, 2014 in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. Burial services will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Pittsfield, MA.
