Mrs. Lambert was the owner of Lambert's Bookshop from 1966-1972.

Jane L. (Sweeney) Lambert, 89, of North Kingstown, passed away Monday, Dec. 2. She was the former wife of the late Joseph E. Lambert. Born in Winchester, Mass., she was the daughter of the late John F. and Helen (Rourke) Sweeney.

She leaves a daughter, Joanne Lambert Naumann; a son, Joseph E. Lambert, Jr.; and a great-grandson, Michael S. Grenier.

Mrs. Lambert was the owner of Lambert’s Bookshop from 1966-1972, worked at the University of R.I. Bookstore from 1972-1973 and was the co-owner of Hillcrest Campground in Chichester, N.H. from 1972-1982. She retired in 2001 as a reference librarian from North Indian River County Library in Sebastian, Fla.

After her retirement, Mrs. Lambert returned to North Kingstown to be with her daughter and great-grandson. She enjoyed reading and books and using her computer. Her greatest joy was watching her great-grandson grow up to be a saxophone major at URI and a member of the 88th Army Band (R.I. National Guard).

She was a member of the Friends of the North Kingstown Library and volunteered at Davisville Library. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernard Church, North Kingstown. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the North Kingstown Library, Davisville Library or to the Sebastian Library will be appreciated.
