Obituary: Henry C. "Ski" Zaborski, 80

Mr. Zaborski was a 20-year career Navy serviceman and Korean War veteran who was devoted to the Davisville Elementary School community.


Henry C. "Ski" Zaborski, USN Ret., 80, passed away June 21. He was the husband of the late Joan H. (Boday) Zaborski. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary (Kawa) Zaborski.

Mr. Zaborski was a 20-year career Navy serviceman and Korean War veteran. He was proud of his military service, traveling the world, crossing the equator, serving on ships in astronaut recovery, collecting recipes and cooking for everyone. He was a member of the VFW Post #1 and donated much of his time to the Davisville Elementary School community.

He is survived by a son, Michael H. Zaborski, and his wife Carolyn; grandsons John M. and Matthew B. Zaborski; and sisters Helen Gauvin and Jane Murphy. He was the brother of late Chester Zaborski and Josephine Godek.

Funeral Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Francis de Sales Church, School St., North Kingstown. Burial with military honors will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Davisville Free Library.
