Obituary: Dennis R. Fontaine, Sr., 58

Dennis was the owner of Smith's Berry Farm and was also a finish carpenter.

Dennis R. Fontaine, Sr., 58, of Saunderstown, passed away peacefully Jan. 15, at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the beloved husband of Brenda (Mello) Fontaine for 31 years. Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late Robert and Alice (Smith) Fontaine.

Dennis was the owner of Smith's Berry Farm and was also a finish carpenter. He was the former Vice President of the R.I. Trials Club. He enjoyed volunteering with the Boy Scouts, lending his farm for their activities. 

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Dennis R. Fontaine, Jr., of North Kingstown; a daughter, Amy Fontaine of North Kingstown; two sisters, Diane Marinaro of West Warwick and Debra Breard of Coventry; five nieces, one nephew, three great-nieces and one great-nephew; and his cherished pal, Buddy.

His funeral service will be held Monday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. in the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown. Burial will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Exeter.
