Obituary: Daniel A. McDonald, JR., 80, Korean War Army Veteran

He was the beloved husband of Martha (Browning) McDonald.

Daniel A. McDonald, Jr., 80, of North Kingstown, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Martha (Browning) McDonald.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Daniel A., Sr. and Margaret T. (Gilgun) McDonald.

Mr. McDonald served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for Brown & Sharpe Mfg. Co. and the Navy base at both Quonset and Newport before retiring. He was a member of the North Kingstown Senior Center and the Whirl-A-Way square dancing group in East Greenwich.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, David E. McDonald and his wife Elizabeth of Warwick; and two granddaughters, Christen and Kendall McDonald. He was the brother of the late Ann Antoscia.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 8:45am from the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Monday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hospice Care of VNA of Care New England, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
