Obituary: Christopher R. Shippee, 38

Christopher Shippee of Saunderstown passed away this week at the age of 38.

The following obituary was provided by Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home.

Christopher R. Shippee of Saunderstown passed away Monday, Oct. 15. He was 38 years old. He leaves behind his wife, Shannon McKnight, and son Cameron R. Shippee.

He was the son of Cathy and Russell Shippee; brother of Erin Shippee
and Kathryn Figliolini; and grandson of Lucille Bragg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Chris attended Providence Country Day School and graduated from Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, MA. He attended the University of New Hampshire.

Chris was an executive recruiter for Executive Search Co. for many years. He was the Social Vice President of Monsignor Matthew F. Clarke School in Wakefield. He was a communicant at St. Thomas More Church.

A loving smile and a warm word to all made him a welcome addition to any crowd where he put a smile on people's faces.

He was an avid sailor and racer, being part of the Lady Virginia and Renegade race teams as well as the Wickford Yacht Club Seadog Fleet. He was a ski instructor. He loved biking, golf, hiking, and fishing. He loved gardening and the outdoors.

He was a former member of the Dunes Club and Point Judith County Club. He was also a member of the Roger Williams Family Association.

He was a supporter of the Providence Ronald McDonald house and Hasbro Children's Hospital.

His funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 at 8:45 a.m. from the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, 53
Rockland Street, Narragansett. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Friday 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donation can be made to Providence Ronald McDonald House or Monsignor Matthew F. Clarke School.
