Chester G. Matteson II of Exeter passed away on Sunday, June 24 at home. He was 65 years old. North Kingstowners may know Matteson as the owner and operator of the on the corner of Route 102 and Route 2. Aside from the restaurant, Matteson enjoyed antiquing, playing cards and gardening.

Matteson leaves behind his wife Brenda K. (Joslin) Matteson of 40 years. Born in South Kingstown, Matteson was the son of John H. Matteson of North Kingstown and the late Ruth E. (Collins) Matteson.

Aside from his wife and father, Matteson leaves behind two children (Jennifer Reay of North Kingstown and Chester G. Matteson III of West Greenwich), a sister (Joan Matteson Funk of New Hampshire) and four grandchildren. He was the brother of the late John H. Matteson Jr.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, June 27 at 11 a.m. at the . Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at in North Kingstown.
