Obituary: Brandon R. Burns, 24

A 2007 graduate of NKHS, he was an all-American distance runner and a gifted artist.

Brandon R. Burns, 24, of Westerly – formerly of North Kingstown – . 

Born in Warwick, he was the son of Robert and Barbara (Beagan) Burns of North Kingstown. Brandon graduated from North Kingstown High School in 2007 where he was an All-American distance runner and was invited to the Melrose Games. He served in the US Army during the Iraq War.

Brandon was a service advisor for Valenti Toyota. He loved cars and recently found a new interest in motorcycles. He was a gifted artist and avid runner.
Besides his parents, he leaves a sister, Baylee Burns of North Kingstown; three aunts, Patricia Carney (Daniel), Janet Simpson (Gary) and Mindy Czajka (William); two uncles, Edward Beagan (Sue) and Scott Burns (Leslie Young); and many cousins. He was the grandson of the late Edward and Alice Beagan, and Robert and Roberta Burns.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours Friday, May 31, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. His funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the National Motorcycle Safety Fund, 2 Jenner St., Suite 150, Irvine, Calif. 92618-3806 will be appreciated.
