NK Couple Dies within Two Days of Each Other

Richard H. and Joan M. (Deuel) Gleason, 74, both of North Kingstown, died within two days of each other on April 12 and 14.

Richard was born in Providence, the son of the late Hugh J. Gleason and Dorothy I. (Milligan) Gleason. He was employed as Produce Clerk at Almac's Market until his retirement. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a Communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Wickford.

Joan was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Elmer Deuel and Edith (King) Deuel. She was employed as a Receptionist at Calenda Eye Associates and was a Communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church.

They leave their loving daughter, Deborah J. Harrington and her husband Michael of Richmond and their cherished grandson, Ryan P. Harrington of Richmond. Joan was the sister of Marjorie Pulver of Cranston and Gail Palumbo of Greenville. 

Calling Hours for Richard & Joan will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. A Mass of Christian Burial for Joan will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 am in St. Francis de Sales Church, 301 School Street, North Kingstown. Burial in St. Ann Cemetery will be private. A committal service for Richard will be held in Highland Memorial Park at a time to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in their memory to Gentiva Hospice, 2374 Post Road, Suite 206, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
