Looking Back: 2010's Christmas Blizzard

A year ago, North Kingstown was digging out of the season's first big blizzard.

It may be 50º out today in North Kingstown, but a year ago North Kingstown was in the heart of its first big blizzard of the year.

Nearly a foot of snow fell on North Kingstown on the day-after Christmas blizzard. Though the storm brought down numerous trees and telephone polls, caused more than 100 power outages throughout town and left the roadways a mess, the snow provided North Kingstown students with a great winter break to go sledding, skiing and partake in other snow-related activities.

As many of you remember (or what this editor spent all summer trying to forget), this blizzard was one of a whopping 13 storms that struck North Kingstown last winter. Will the same happen this year?
