NK Resident Wins Voice of Defense Bar Scholarship

This is a national award which required an extensive application, including an essay detailing her analysis of the current proposed amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

Big honor for a local woman whose law career is starting to take off.

Lenore Montanaro, resident of North Kingstown, is the recipient of the 2014 DRI - The Voice of the Defense Bar Scholarship.  

This is a national award which required an extensive application, including an essay detailing her analysis of the current proposed amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

She was presented with the award at a three-day conference taking place in Chicago from June 11th to the 13th, which also featured seminars about law office management and diversity in the workplace.  

A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, Massachusetts, Lenore will receive her Juris Doctor in Law from Western New England University School of Law, Springfield, Massachusetts, in May, 2015.

In memory of her brother, John, who passed away from leukemia, Lenore published a book of poetry titled, “The Morning within the Dark.”   She is currently working on her second book.
