Many are up in arms over the social media schism that is the Facebook timeline. Whether you like it or hate it, Facebook's changing over to this new layout...including North Kingstown Patch's page, starting March 30.
Instead of throwing a tantrum and starting a Facebook page to petition this, we've decided to use one of timeline's features to highlight North Kingstown's artistic talent.
How, you ask? From now until March 29, we'll be accepting North Kingstown's submissions for a cover photo for us to use on NK Patch's Facebook page.
Whether its a photo of Wickford Village at sunset, a painting of the ducks at nearby Beach Rose Cafe or even folks chowing down at the Oak Hill Tavern for Wacky Wing Wednesday, we're looking for pieces of art that are uniquely North Kingstown.
There's no age requirement to submit: You just have to be a North Kingstown Patch user and be able to create a 100 percent original piece of work owned by you for us to use. You agree to grant Patch the royalty free, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive right and license to use the work on North Kingstown Patch’s Facebook page. You must have permission to show all individuals seen in the work. If minor children are included in the work, you must be their parent or guardian, or obtain written consent from their parent or guardian prior to submitting the work. All entries must be at least 399 pixels wide and cannot contain any advertising (such as a prominent Coca Cola logo).
We'll close acceptance for entries on March 29. The winner will be determined by the editor – but comments left below may help us in our decision.
