The Hive RI Lunch & Learn series

Press Release

Shut up and Make more Money-The art of listening and asking questions

North Kingstown, RI – April 28, 2014: The Hive RI presents Speaking of Success founder Richard Austin as the featured speaker in their weekly Thursday Lunch & Learn series on Thursday, May 1st. The Lunch & Learn program is an interactive program that features R.I. professionals presenting on various topics with a focus on business development.

Richard Austin, founder of Speaking for Success, was once a life-long stutterer who understood that pain and fear of speaking to others. As Richard overcame his “affliction, he helps his clients find their voice, and teaches them how to communicate effectively. He provides public speaking training and workshops for clients as well as public attendances.

Customers and clients will tell you what they want if you just listen. Too often we over-load them with options and choices to the point of confusion. A confused client isn’t going to buy anything. “Opportunities are often missed because we are talking when should be listening”

Asking the right question, at the right time, can only occur of you’ve been listening. Questions should be crafted around what you hear, not what you want to sell.

Richard Austin will discuss, in detail, how to listen, what makes a good listener, and how to stay quiet (it’s called waiting). He will also explore how to craft the right questions based on what you hear.
