Community Corner

Quonset Point 10 Miler and 5k

This
year Wickford Sailing Association (WSA) in collaboration with the Association of Migraine Disorders will be hosting its’ annual road race, the Quonset Point 10 miler and 5K, to benefit the sailing association. The
non-profit WSA provides low cost, high quality sailing instruction
to youth and adults from all surrounding communities during the summer
months and provides the opportunity for the local community to experience sailing in Wickford.

Each
year we have over 120 kids go through this program and in order to keep our
fleet of boats in a safe and useable condition it costs money. The road race is
just one of our events to raise funds for the program.

The race courses are a fast, flat loop
around Quonset Point and are USATF Certified. Entry Fees are
reduced until Thursday, March 28th by registering online
at http://www.lightboxreg.com/quonset-point-10-miler-and-5k

Fees for the 10 Miler are $25, and $20 for the 5K.  After March
28th they are $30 and $25.  Race day registration will open at
8am at the Toray Gym (EWC). Tee shirts will be available for the first
200 entrants to register, with limited availability on race day. There will be
free post-race food & drink for runners.
