Get nostalgic for the 70's.....the Jamestown Arts Center invites you to a screening of The Last Waltz, the documentary by Martin Scorcese of The Band's 'farewell' concert originally held on Thanksgiving, 11/25/76 at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, where The Band had made its debut in l969.

The Last Waltz is often hailed as one of the greatest concert films ever made. The film features many special guest performances, including Eric Clapton, Ronnie Hawkins, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and the list goes on. The live songs are interspersed with studio segments and interview scenes with Martin Scorcese, and The Band's members reminiscing about the group's history.

At this historic event promoted by Bill Graham, some 5,000 guests were served turkey dinners, followed by ballroom dancing. The concert began at 9:00 and went on til the last encore by The Band at 2:15 a.m.....so come on down to the Jamestown Arts Center, on November 14th, 7:00 p.m., and bring your own dinner and drinks...tables will be set up for movie watching and dining, and if you're so inclined, dress the part, come in your 70's garb and experience some amazing rock and roll history. As seating is limited we recommend purchasing your ticket at JAC prior to the event.
