52nd
Wickford Art Festival – July 12, 2014, 10 am - 6 pm & July 13, 2014, 10 am
- 5 pm

The 52nd Wickford Art Festival returns to
coastal Wickford Village on Saturday July 12 and Sunday 13, 2014. Up to 250
artists from all over the country and world display their art amongst historic
homes, ecelctic shops and quaint streets. Handicap accessible and family friendly,
this fine
art festival draws art lovers from throughout New England with crowds up to 75,000 attending yearly. Admission is free.

Produced by the Wickford Art Association (WAA),
sponsored by Centreville Bank and Gooseneck Vineyards, the Wickford Art Festival is one of the longest running, outdoor, fine art
festivals in New England. North American artists will be traveling from as far
away as Florida, Arizona and Canada.
Quanqiang Gao, a respected Chinese artist will be making his American
debut at the Wickford Art Festival exhibiting his large scale modern ink
artwork. Mediums include oil, acrylic, fiber, drawing, sculpture in metal, clay
and glass, pastel, carved wood, mixed media, modern ink, photography, glass and
more. All art is one of a kind or limited, signed and numbered editions.
Artists will be in their booths to meet attendees, discuss their inspiration
and method of creation. New this year is Rhode Island is the first state in the
nation to go tax-free on the sale of fine art!

Centreville Bank will be giving away bags of fresh popcorn in Updike Park and Gooseneck Vineyards will be hosting wine tastings Friday through Sunday at Wickford Package Store (see our website for hours). Snap a selfie in our selfie booth and get a free Festival sticker while they last.

The festival cumulates with the Annual Scholarship
Raffle of Fine Art held on Sunday afternoon. Proceeds of the raffle benefit the
WAA Scholarship Fund which awards $5,000 in scholarships to three RI high
school seniors attending an art college. WAA, a 501c3 non-profit, was founded
in 1962 to educate its membership, the local community and general public and
to promote the arts in the community. The festival’s proceeds support the art
association’s numerous art programs and community events, all open to the
public.
