Monday

Cyber Monday

Today is Cyber Monday and Saturday was small business Saturday. Why not combine the two, using Patch. Check out our business directory to find local business' websites, then give them your money. You increase your chances of finding something unique and original, and you give the local economy some much needed help.

Tuesday

High School Jazz Concert | 7:00 p.m. at North Kingstown High School

Hear the North Kingstown Senior and Junior Jazz Bands and the NK Jazz Combo performance tonight at 7:00 at North Kingstown High School, 150 Fairway Drive. The concert's suggested donation is $4 per person. All donations are used for scholarships for kids who need help either for band travel or for graduate awards in June.

Thursday-Sunday

Festival of Lights | 6 p.m., Dowtown Wickford Village

Sponsored by the NK Chamber of Commerce, the 26th annual Festival of Lights kicks off kicks off a weekend of festivities Thursday at 6 p.m.  The event starts with the town tree lighting and a visit from Santa at Updike Park. The North Kingstown Community Youth Chorus and the Lafayette Band will also perform.

The schedule for the rest of the week is as follows:

Friday, Dec. 2:

  • 5:30 p.m. — Santa arrives at the Town Dock.
  • 5:00 – 8 p.m. — Historic House Treasure Hunt and Raffle
  • 6 – 7:30 p.m. — Ongoing live nativity at on Main Street performed by the Youth Groups.
  • 6 – 8 p.m. — Hayrides with Santa around the Village, originating in the parking lot by the Town Dock ($2 per person).
  • 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. — The North Kingstown Community Chorus carols in Updike Park.
  • 7:15 – 8:15 p.m. — The Lafayette Band performs their “Holiday Concert” at the First Baptist Church on Main Street.

Saturday, Dec. 3:

  • 8 – 11 a.m. — Breakfast with Santa at the on Main Street. ($10 per adult, $5 kids 12 and under).
  • 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. — Historic House Treasure Hunt and raffle.
  • 11:15 a.m. — to Festival of Lights this year is an elf parade. This event is sponsored by The Wickford Collection and the YMCA.
  • 12:30 p.m. — Santa arrives at the Town Dock
  • 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. — Hayrides with Santa around the village originating in the parking lot by the Town Dock. ($2 per person).
  • 7:00 p.m. — North Kingstown Community Chorus and Youth Chorus Winter Concert at NKHS.

Sunday, Dec. 4:

  • 12:30 p.m. — Santa arrives at the Town Dock.
  • 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. — Historic House Treasure Hunt and Raffle
  • 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. — Hayrides with Santa around the village.
  • 3:00 p.m. — North Kingstown Community Chorus and Youth Chorus “Winter Concert” at NKHS.
