Monday

Town Council Meeting | 6:30 p.m. at

On Monday night’s agenda, the council hosts two public hearings on two contentious issues – zoning district changes regarding a proposed village center at Rolling Greens and another for restructuring firefighters schedules to 24-hour-long shifts.

Tuesday

Advanced Placement (AP) teachers will explain course descriptions and expectations for these courses while NKHS alumni will be available to share how their AP experiences have assisted them in college. .

Planning Commission Meeting | 7:30 p.m. at

The North Kingstown Planning Commission looks to review and send a recommendation to the town council regarding – which came about during meeting for a . The commission also looks to discuss transfer development rights and village centers. See the full agenda here.

 

Wednesday

Whether you’re an armchair traveler or a photography buff, head down to the library to peruse some photos courtesy of Cindy Horovitz and Eileen McCarney Mudoon. Both ladies have been professional photographers for more than 20 years recently visited Greece and are ready to display their work. Register here.

 

Thursday

District-wide Spelling Bee | 6:30 p.m. at

 

Saturday

| 11 a.m. at 105 Upper College Road, Kingston

Head over to the Fine Arts Center at URI to see jazz bands from across the state – including the North Kingstown High School Jazz Band – in a free performance.

 

Pre-Super Bowl Party | 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at

Start the Super Bowl Festivities early with Wilson’s of WIckford. Live music will be provided by local blue grass band Lizzie James and the Grey Stone Rail (from 2 to 4 p.m.). Enjoy free mini facials, chair massages, color analysis and makeup makeover courtesy of Radiance by Leslie. Scrimshanders will be offering free scrimshaw demonstrations all day and giving away one free scrimshaw lesson. Guess the final score of the Super Bowl and win $100 of Wilson’s of WIckford gift certificates.
