Newport Resident Injured in Boston Bombing

A Newport woman was injured in the Boston marathon bombing on Monday afternoon, as first reported by The Newport Buzz. She went though surgery Monday night at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. 

Police Detective Hit During Chase

Narragansett Police Chief Dean Hoxsie has released a statement about this morning’s hit and run accident, confirming that a Narragansett police officer and the suspects in the chase were both taken to hospitals for treatment.

Teens Charged With Fire-bombing House

The fire that broke out at 81 Eagle Road early Friday morning was an act of arson that erupted after a fight at a house party, Cranston Police said, and two local 18-year-olds are now being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions.

Newport Victim in Boston Bombing Identified

A Newport resident remains in the hospital Tuesday after she was injured in the Boston Marathon bombing Monday afternoon.  Heather Abbott, originally from Lincoln, underwent surgery Monday night at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, friends confirmed.
