Rhode Island Air Show Sells Out

Yesterday's air show sold out with two hours left in the show.

Sold out.

For the first time in its 21-year history, the Rhode Island National Guard Open House and Air Show sold out. At 2 p.m. on Sunday, with two hours left in the show and more than an hour before the Blue Angels were set to perform, the RI National Guard closed the show's gates to any additional visitors.

According to multiple reports, traffic was backed up to Route 95 in Warwick with people trying to get into the show. For the thousands who did make it inside the gates, they were treated to performances by the Geico Skytypers, a race between John Klatt's ANG plane and Neal Darnell's jet truck, explosions and much more.
