Guide to NK's Memorial Day Parade

North Kingstown's Memorial Day Parade kicks off at 10 a.m.

It's not a true Memorial Day weekend in North Kingstown without seeing the parade make its way through Wickford. For those heading down to the historic village for this annual event (and to those who aren't going – what's wrong with you?), we've put together a guide of things you may need to know for Monday's parade.

Commemoration - 9 a.m. at Town Hall

Before the parade kicks off at 10 a.m., the day starts off with wreath-laying ceremonies at the Civil War Memorial at and the memorials at the nearby Veterans Memorial Park.

Unlike past years, the ceremony has been timed so that those who are in the parade will be able to see the wreath-laying and have enough to time to get , which brings us to our next point...

Start of Parade - 10 a.m. at Wilson Park

Parade marchers will begin forming at at 9 a.m. with the start set for 10 a.m. 

The Route

The parade kicks off at Wilson Park and follows West Main Street, Brown and Phillips Streets through the village then on to Tower Hill Road. The parade then heads south on Route 1/Tower Hill Road.

Concluding Ceremonies

The parade will end at at around 11 a.m. with its concluding ceremonies.

Hot Dogs!

Parishioners of invite residents to a hot dog roast at the church, right across the street from the concluding ceremonies at Elm Grove Cemetery. 

In case of inclement weather, the wreath-laying ceremonies for both the Town Hall and Veterans Memorial Park will go forward at 9 a.m., as well as the ceremonies at Elm Grove Cemetery at 11 a.m.
