Five Things To Know This Weekend

The weekend's five essentials.

Okay, so we get it’s Friday and we’re all looking forward to relaxing, but we’ll have to advise you against that…at least until midnight. It’s finally April Fools (a.k.a. every little brothers’ favorite day of the year) and this is the worst day to take a mental vacation. With that, happy weekend and enjoy our installment of Five Things To Know This Weekend!

  1. For those of us who have given up on the New Years’ resolution to eat healthier (and for those cookie lovers out there), head over to the today from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a . The cost is only $5.
  2. Who says you have to go to New York City to see a fab show? Trek down to Courthouse Center for the Arts this weekend for Can’t make it this weekend? The show will go on every weekend from now until Apr. 23 at 8 p.m. every Friday and Saturday night. Tickets are $19 to $30 per person.
  3. For Red Sox fans across Sox Nation, rejoice because opening day is finally here! The Sox will take on the Texas Rangers today at 4:05 p.m. on NESN.
  4. Ice cream and balloon animals. Now that we have your attention, we urge you to check out Saturday’s . (Doesn’t that sound so adorable?) Enjoy an ice cream social, baby animals’ nursery, kids’ games, face painting, balloon animals and more, all to benefit the Wildlife Clinic of Rhode Island. Admission is free. Goes from 1 to 4 p.m.
  5. Not that this should come as a shock to anyone, but April will be greeted not by sun and happiness but by snow showers. Though the rain/snow will end about lunchtime, the winds will continue throughout most of the weekend. Saturday’s high temperature will jump into the high 40s with mostly cloudy skies and winds while Sunday’s high temperatures looks to break past 50º as the winds continue.
