Five Things To Know, March 29

Today's five essentials.

They say that Tuesday is the most productive day of the week. We don't know who "they" are or if "they" are even true, but regardless we want to at least help you be productive today. Thus, we present to you five things you might need to know for today.

  1. The looks to survive for another budget year. North Kingstown Town Manager Michael Embury announced that the animal shelter will not be cut from the upcoming budget.
  2. With the winter sports season behind us, it's time to look back and give praise to our amazing student athletes. Partake in the festivities and head over to tonight at 6 p.m.
  3. A year ago today, the three-day downpour that led to the historic floods began. In those three days, nearly nine inches of rain fell on Rhode Island.
  4. The Town of North Kingstown has some fancy new website that popped up yesterday. Check out the new websites for the town, North Kingstown Free Library and North Kingstown Golf Course here. (See the story here.)
  5. Keep the winter coat handy, at least for the next week. Today's temperatures will creep into the high 40s before jumping up into the 50s. Skies will be mostly clear and/or sunny for the next few days.
