Five Things To Know, March 28

Today's five essentials.

Got a case of the Mondays? Well, sorry. We don't have a cure for that, but we do have five things you might need to know for today.

  1. The North Kingstown Town Council will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in its fifth straight Monday night meeting.  On tonight’s agenda, the council will review the school department’s facilities management and planning subcommittee’s report for the . The meeting will be held at the Beechwood Senior Center. (Review the complete agenda in the gallery above.)
  2. At the same time and only a few miles down the road, the North Kingstown School Committee will meet at the . The night’s hefty agenda includes discussion to , reconsideration of the department’s withdrawal from SORICO (), consideration of new legal counsel, and others. (Review the agenda in our gallery above.)
  3. For those of you who have no interest in municipal and school happenings – or those of you who have had too much and would like a break – head over to for some at 6:30 p.m.
  4. Congrats to the NKHS Theatre Department, which won this weekend’s Drama Festival for the first time ever. The troupe is now invited to perform at the New England Festival. Good job, guys and gals!
  5. Yup, it’s still going to be chilly outside today. High temperatures will hover in the mid 40s with tomorrow pretty much looking the same way. Temperatures will take a dip on Wednesday into the mid 30s (boo) before climbing back into the 40s on Thursday. For Friday, the National Weather Service is predicting a possible chance of rain and…(cue the angry mob) snow. (P.S. The abundance of “spring” clothing at the mall is borderline torturous.)
