Today's five essentials.

We hope you all have caught up on that lost hour of sleep last night and are ready to start off your week with a bang. To get you ahead of the game, here's today's Five Things.

1. The opened over the weekend. Aside from the flowers breaking through the ground, nothing says spring like golfers teeing off.

2. The North Kingstown Town Council meets once again tonight at 7 p.m. in the Beechwood Senior Center. The town manager will be submitting his budget for the upcoming year in anticipation of tomorrow night's joint meeting between the Town Council and School Committee. The council will also look into rehabilitation options for Wickford Elementary School.

3. Have a new puppy that's a handful? Teach them the proper etiquette at the at Delmyra Kennels, 191 Ten Rod Rd. in Exeter. Classes are taught by Pooch Pawsitive certified trainer Heidi Palmer McNeil. Puppies from 12 to 20 weeks of age welcome.

4. For parents with a little one at home, we have the perfect excuse to get both of you out of the house on this Monday. Head over to the for Mother Goose Time, featuring finger plays and music followed by toy time. For ages 12 to 24 months.

5. What a glorious weekend we had! Unfortunately, today looks to be a bit colder with high temperatures in the upper 30s and lower 40s. (Keep an eye on the weekend forecast, however: it looks to be full of awesome weather.)
