A week ago today, the high temperatures were in the 60s. Yesterday, we woke up to snow on the ground. So what will this weekend hold? Check below for our five things to know this weekend.

  1. The Variety Show is tonight at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. From comedy skits to musical acts to dancing to...well, just about everything, see the talent coming from NKHS tonight!
  2. Celebrate NK's great student athletes at Saturday night's 11th Annual Evening of Champions Fundraiser. Held by the NK Boosters Club, this event supports the school's athletics programs. Win prizes of up to $5,000 during the fundraiser, too! $35 per person at the from 6:30 to 11 p.m.
  3. Who doesn't wnt a little music in their life? Stop by the Sunday at 2 p.m. to catch the in this special presentation. Please register for this program at 294-3306.
  4. We here at North Kingstown Patch have received a lot of feedback from locals concerned with the town's latest proposed budget. Those looking to speak before the town council to voice these concerns, we ask you save your pipes...at least for a few more weeks. The Town Council will hold a public hearing on April 11 at 6 p.m. for those wishing to speak about the municipal budget and another hearing at 7 p.m. for those speaking on the school budget.
  5. Brace yourselves for a chilly weekend, folks, as the high temperatures for both Saturday and Sunday are expected to peak at 41º. Though both days will be sunny, the chill and the wind will make you grab for the scarf before the sandals.
