Five Things To Know For March 1

Today's five essentials.

We've made it to March, the month of St. Patrick's Day and when things (hopefully) begin to thaw. Here are a few things you might need to know to kick off the first day of this lovely month.

  1. The Economic Development Advisory Board will be meeting tonight at 5 p.m. at the Town Hall Conference Room, 80 Boston Neck Rd. The main topic of discussion will be a new marketing campaign that looks to foster a "business-friendly" environment in North Kingstown.
  2. The Planning Commission will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m., also in the Town Hall Conference Room. The commission will set a date for the next hearing on the Stamp Farm turbine and discuss plans for land owned by Richard Schartner.

  4. The playoff schedules were finalized today for high school basketball and North Kingstown looks to have two chances at a state championship. The NK boys basketball team takes on Rogers at Providence Career & Technical Academy on March 5 at 2 p.m.
