5 Things: Two Years, Columbus Day & More

Five things to know for Oct. 8.

1.  Happy Columbus Day, NK! For those heading out today, here's a list of business holiday hours.

2.  For parents trying to figure out what to do with the kids today, check out KidZone. The indoor playground is holding a "School's Out Party" featuring face painting, tattoos (of the temporary variety, of course) and make-and-take crafts. Open to children up to 8 years old. Price ranges from $3 to $9. Learn more here.

3.  The North Kingstown School Committee meets tomorrow night at the high school. The committee will start the night off with a Teacher of the Year and ESP Support Professional of the Year reception at 6:30 p.m. After that, the committee will discuss several policies. 4.  The NK Board of Canvassers is also seeking poll workers for the Nov. 6 election. .
