- The Town of North Kingstown has revoked the building permit for North Kingstown Green, ostensibly halting construction of the already-approved 427-foot wind turbine. Check back with North Kingstown Patch for the full story later.
- The North Kingstown School Committee looks to go at it again tonight at 7 p.m. at the NKHS auditorium. On the agenda, the committee looks to discuss (continued from its last meeting), , request decision regarding legal counsel, and other issues. - NKHS' actors need your help. NKHS' Advanced Acting class, Acting Ensemble and Thespian Troupe 6945 is holding a benefit performance of their winning one-act play, "Nora's Lost," tomorrow at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The group is raising funds for their trip to the New England festival in Andover, MA. Tickets are $5 at the door.
- On this day in history, Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin becomes the first human to travel in outerspace in 1961.
- Another chance of showers today as yesterday's cloudy conditions continue. High temperatures will be in the mid 50s. Tonight, things will be a bit breezy and showers will start after 1 a.m. Blustery conditions continue into Wednesday as more rain falls on Rhode Island with an expected one to two inches of rain.
