5 Things: Schools, Arts and Sports

Here are five things to know for Tuesday, Oct. 11.

1. The School Committee plans to discuss the current budget as well as the 2012-2013 budget, along with recognizing the teacher and educational support professional of the year, and considering a host of bids during a worksession tonight. Executive session is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with the regular meeting beginning at 7 at North Kingstown High School, 150 Fairway Drive. Click this link for the complete agenda.

2. Does your child have a passion for music? Consider the North Kingstown Community Youth Chorus, which will hold registration and its first rehearsal of the season today at 6:30 p.m. at the at 166 Mark Drive. The Youth Chorus is open to children in grades 2 to  6. No audition is required and North Kingstown residency is not required. The $28 fee includes music and registration fee. 3. Get some culture for free this week as the Wickford Art Association Gallery, 36 Beach St., presents a member art show beginning today. The show is open today through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show features:

4. Come out and support the North Kingstown High School Girls' Varsity Soccer team as they take on Cumberland High School tonight at 6:30. The home game will be played at , 150 Fairway Drive.

5. While the mercury may not head north of 80 for the third straight day, North Kingstowners should enjoy another unseasonably warm day, with high temps in the low 70s and clear sunny skies across the region. Enjoy!
