5 Things: School Committee, Air Show & More

Five things to know for June 12.

1.  The North Kingstown School Committee meets tonight at 7 p.m. at the high school. On the agenda, the committee will discuss recommendations for what to do with the remainder of a $9 million bond from 2004, award a bid for the replacement of the l, discuss bullying policies, discuss allowing commercial advertising at athletic and other school-sponsored events, and more. 2.  Help the "bike it to the end." From 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. today, cycle bikes will be set up to help the YMCA reach its financial assistance goal of $69,500. Al 13 bikes will be available for hour-long time slots. (Sign up as an individual or bring a team!) A $100 donation is recommended per hour per bike. Each bike also gets a T-shirt for the event. .

3.  It's air show weekend! The Rhode Island Air National Guard Open House & Air Show returns to Quonset this Saturday and Sunday, featuring the Thunderbirds. Stay tuned for interviews with the pilots and a guide to this year's air show!

4.  VFW Post 152 is conducting a flag retirement ceremony on outside the community center. Please drop off worn or unserviceable US flags to the main or
