5 Things: Santa's Coming to Town, Breakfast & Elf Parade

Five things to know for Dec. 2.

  1. It's day two for the Festival of Lights in Wickford. At 5:30 p.m. tonight, Santa arrives to Wickford via boat. (Is there really any other way for Santa to arrive in Wickford? We didn't think so.) Stick around for the historic house treasure hunt and raffle, a live nativity at St. Paul's, hayrides with Santa and more.
  2. If you don't think you've had enough Santa, you're in luck. Tomorrow morning, , hosted by the . Enjoy a full breakfast, including waffle station, and even have your picture taken with St. Nick. Runs from 8 to 11 a.m. $10 for adults, $5 for children two to 12 and free for kids under 2.
  3. After breakfast, we suggest you at 11:15 a.m. in Wickford. A new addition to the festival this year, this event is sponsored by and the . Best elf costume wins $75 while second and third place receive $50 and $25 respectively.
  4. Here's a twofer for you: help keep our community warm this winter and hang out with Santa. Head over to Coventry Credit Union tomorrow to see Santa and Lite Rock 105's Heather Gersten for the. Enjoy refreshments and giveaways from 10 a.m. to noon tomorrow. Please bring a pair of mittens/gloves, hat or scarf for the collection.
