5 Things: Rolling Greens, Sports-Filled Day & (Even More) Rain

Today's five essentials.

  1. There's still no resolution yet on the proposal for a village center at Rolling Greens Golf Course. Last night the North Kingstown Planning Commission pushed the issue back to its June 21 meeting. Check back later for the full story.
  2. Want to learn more about surviving anxiety and depression? Head over to the for a special presentation and discussion from Lewis Bosler of South Shore Center. Kicks off at 6:30 p.m. but register online here or call the library at 294-3306.
  3. Today is the last day the Wickford Middle School Science Olympiad team will spend in Rhode Island before departing for Wisconsin tomorrow. The team will be in land of the cheeseheads for the next few days as they compete in the National Science Olympiad. Rest up tonight and good luck, guys and gals!
  4. It's a full day of sports for . The NKHS boys baseball team dukes it out with East Greenwich today at 3 p.m. up in EG. The girls softball team, however, will be on its home turf battling Westerly High School at 4 p.m. while the girls lacrosse team takes on Cranston West at 6 p.m. at NKHS. On the road, the boys volleyball team will face Chariho at 6:30 p.m. while the boys lacrosse team heads over to Barrington High School at 6:30 p.m. for their matchup.
  5. What a shock: more showers and thunderstorms are anticipated today. Heavy rain is expected at times with patchy fog as temperatures hover in the upper 50s. Tonight, temperatures will dip a bit into the lower 50s before jumping up to the 60s tomorrow. We could tell you that they'll be sunny skies tomorrow, but that would be a blatant lie. More showers are likely, as well as thunderstorms, throughout the day.
