5 Things: Planning Meeting, No New Trial & More

Five things to know for Nov. 15.

  1. Tonight, the North Kingstown Planning Commission will hold a meeting to review changes to the town's comprehensive plan and zoning ordinances regarding wind energy systems. The commission will look at performance standards for turbines in town. Also on the agenda, the commission will discuss and hold a public hearing on comprehensive plan amendments regarding a proposed village center at Rolling Greens Golf Course. Starts at 7:30 p.m. at the North Kingstown Town Hall.
  2. Judge William Carnes Jr. , who was convicted of second-degree murder . She is set for sentencing on Feb. 17.
  3. Join the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce for a tomorrow at , complete with door prizes, refreshments and loads of networking. In lieu of an entry fee, attendees are asked to donate a non-perishable food item for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Runs from 5 to 7 p.m.
  4. is hosting a . The school has been collecting coats, snow pants and boots for residents young and old – items that will be available for free to any resident who needs them. Runs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
