5 Things: Planning Commission, Indoor Sports & Books

Five things to know for Oct. 2.

1.  The North Kingstown Planning Commission meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. at town hall. On the agenda, the commission will discuss Post Road zoning and existing structures, transfer development rights, village centers and more. Read the full agenda here.

2.  Ray Rickman – a rare-book dealer – will be in town tomorrow to hold "Value of the Book" lecture and workshop. (Imagine "Antiques Roadshow," but with books.) Bring your rare first-edition copies, priceless signed books, etc. to the event (Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the North Kingstown Free Library) to find out what it's worth. Please register for this event here.

3.  Wide World of Indoor Sports its holding its grand opening ceremony tomorrow. (The indoor sports facility is also offering free practice space to sports teams displaced by the mosquito "smart scheduling.") Welcome to the neighborhood, WWIS!
