5 Things: Pedicures, Footloose & Troops Returning

Five things to know for March 7.

1.  About 100 soldiers of the 43rd Military Police Brigade will return from Afghanistan today at Quonset Point. The brigade has been in Afghanistan for the past year, assuming control of detention operations with the Afghan National Police at Bagram Airbase. Welcome home!

2.  Who gives the best pedicures in North Kingstown? You have until Friday to cast your vote in this week's poll.

3.  North Kingstown High School's production of the 80s classic Footloose kicks off this weekend. (In an interesting twist, NKHS just instituted a new policy . Isn't that ironic, Alanis?)

4.  Head over to the North Kingstown Free Library tonight for "Eating Locally in Rhode Island: Dairy Farming in RI – 1636 to Present." Richard Greenwood, Deputy Director of the RI Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission will present his slideshow on the changing landscape of dairy farming in the state. Starts at 6:30 p.m. tonight.
