5 Things: Meeting Cancellations, Healthy Traveling & Autism Awareness

Today's five essentials.

We're already two weeks into April and we've seen some beautiful days and some, well, not-so-beautiful ones. What will today bring? Read on.

  1. Tonight's Planning Commission meeting on the Stamp Farm turbine has been canceled. According to NK Planning Director Jon Reiner, not enough commission members will be present  to reach a quorum. Check back with North Kingstown Patch for the rescheduled date.

  3. It's almost 5K season! Head over to tonight at 6:30 p.m. for information on the school's fourth annual "Fly Like an Eagle" 5K race on May 22. 
  4. It's Autism Awareness Month and Showcase Cinemas is joining in on spreading the message. This "Speaking of Kids" workshop is presented by Bradley Hospital and Hasbro Children's Hospital to help provide the tools parents and caregivers to raise happy and healty kids.   5. Okay, so things look a bit brighter today than yesterday as Mr. Sun will make an appearance. Clouds will still linger for most of the day as temperatures hover in the 60s before dropping on Friday into the 50s. As for the weekend, thunderstorms may mount a comeback Saturday afternoon with showers carrying through Sunday afternoon. In other words, you may want to postpone that picnic you had planned for the weekend. Sorry.
