5 Things: Helping Austin, Council & Evensong

Five things to know for Sept. 30.

1.   The NKHS track team is hosting a fundraiser for its teammate Austin Gaudreau, who was critically injured in a car accident earlier this year. Austin is now undergoing therapy in Boston and the medical costs are mounting for his family. The track team will be at Junction Trattoria & Bistro today from 2 to 8 p.m. with tips and a portion of the sales going to support Austin's family. Also today, a portion of the money raised at the Kent Hospital Ocean State 5K in Goddard Park will benefit Austin's family.

2.  St. Paul's is holding a special event tonight – Evensong for the Feast of St. Michael and All Angels. Starts tonight at 7 p.m. Learn more here.

3.  The North Kingstown Town Council meets tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at Beechwood Center. On the agenda, the council will discuss the Route 2/102 visioning group; an amendment to non-union, part-time employees salary and wage schedule; presentations on improvements to the town beach and public works building and more. 4.  KidZone Indoor Playground is hosting its grand opening tomorrow from 10 a.m.to 6 p.m. Stop by and check out their bounce houses, climbers, tunnels and more. Click here for fees and more details.

5.  Today: a chance of showers with possible thunderstorms with highs near 65. Tonight: a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms with lows around 52. Tomorrow: mostly sunny with highs near 70.
