5 Things: Harvest Fest, Big Draw & Fall Bazaar

Five things to know for Oct. 14.

  1. Head over to the at tomorrow for a true autumn event. Experience the day of the 18th century corn husking festivals, complete with live entertainment and savory homemade seasonal treats. Runs from noon to 4 p.m. at Smith's Castle on Saturday. (Rain date is set for Sunday.)
  2. North Kingstown's about to get real artsy this weekend with The Big Draw. Tomorrow, events ranging from drawing fantastic creatures to making hats to origami to covering Wickford Village in chalk will take over town for the North Kingstown Arts Council's event.   3. will be holding its annual today and tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
  4. Today at 3:45 p.m., the girls volleyball team takes on Lincoln at home. At 6:30, the boys soccer team takes on LaSalle, also at home. The boys football will be in East Greenwich tonight with a start time at 7 p.m. for "A Crucial Catch" game in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
  5. Don't put away the rain boots just yet. Today, will likely see some morning showers with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Heavy rainfall and patchy fog may be possible in the morning as temperatures will peak at 70 today. Tomorrow will be mostly sunny and less humid with highs in the upper 60s. Sunday, expect mostly clear skies with highs in the mid 60s.
