5 Things: Friday Night Lights, Last Day of Summer & More

Five things to know for Sept. 22.

  1. Take a long, deep breath of that summer air because, come tomorrow, it will be gone. Yes, summer will officially be over tomorrow as Sept. 23 is the first day of the new season. (In true Rhode Island fashion, however, we're still refusing to put away the sandals.)
  2. Get artsy this fall with a Take an Arts Break class, courtesy of the North Kingstown Arts Council. Register for classes ranging from editorial coaching, calligraphy, sea glass jewelry and more. .
  3. Tune in to WJAR (Channel 10) tomorrow night to see North Kingstown High School under the lights. Each week, Channel 10 runs a segment called "Friday Night Lights," featuring a football game and the host school. This week, North Kingstown's face-off against Barrington will be featured. Coverage begins at 5 p.m. during tomorrow night's newscasts.

  5. Forecasters are predicting showers this morning and maybe later in the day with highs near 75. Tomorrow, more showers are expected with highs near 73.
