  1. For those planning a day outdoors, you may want to reschedule. The Department of Environmental Management has issued an ozone alert for today. Conditions will be at their worst in the mid to late afternoon, so try to plan your activities in the morning or later in the day. .
  2. Looking to get out for some outdoor activities? Head over to for an . The program happens every Wednesday night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. from now until Aug. 25 with a $50 fee per person.   3. Check out the historic Shady Lea Mill today for open studio day. Visit the studio's colony of artists, artisans, potters, painters, glassblowers, woodworkers, jewelers and more. Free guided tours are available by appointment at 290-7548. Runs from noon to 5 p.m. every Wednesday.
  4. Before you start making your weekend plans, we thought we'd offer this friendly reminder that the 49th Annual Wickford Art Festival is Saturday and Sunday. Even if you don't plan to attend the festival, keep in mind that traffic in the area is going to be pretty congested so plan accordingly.
