5 Things: February Vacation, Healthy Eating & More

Five things to know for Feb. 17.

1.  Fair warning: school's out next week for February vacation. Also on Monday, town offices will be closed in observance of President's Day. (Check back later for our compilation of things to do with the kids over February break.)

2.  Healthy Places by Design hosts another working group this morning. Today's meeting will focus on healthy eating in North Kingstown. Starts at 9:30 a.m. at the town hall annex building in Wickford.

3.  Bats get a bad rap. Learn more about these winged mammals from DEM wildlife biologist Charlie Brown at tomorrow's program. Starts at 10:30 a.m. at the North Kingstown Free Library. Please register for this program.

4.  Tomorrow's Saturday and you know what that means – farmer's market time. Head over to the Coastal Growers market down at the Lafayette Mill on Ten Rod Road between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

5.  Today: showers likely in the morning with highs near 48. Tonight: mostly clear with lows around 30. Tomorrow: increasing clouds and highs near 45.
