5 Things: Farmers Market, Community Swim & Asteroids?

Five things to know for Feb. 15.

1.  Support your local farmers and vendors tomorrow at the Coastal Growers Market at Lafayette Mill. The market's open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow.

2.  Good news: Near Earth Asteroid 2012 DA14 will not smack the Earth today. But it will come inside the Earth's ring of geosynchronous satellites, NASA reports, making its closest approach at 17:26 UTC, or 2:26 p.m. Eastern Standard time. Its size is thought to be about 45 meters in diameter. It will appear slightly fainter than the naked eye can detect, so you'll have to take NASA's word for it. Unless their math is wrong.

3.  This Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m., head over to the West Bay Family YMCA for a free community swim, open to everyone. (Even non-members!) Family registration is required, however. Learn more here.
