5 Things: Cookie Walk, NKHS Madness & Festivus

Five things to know for Dec. 6.

1.  Head over to Cold Spring Community Center for a Holiday Fair and Cookie Walk on today. Choose from a multitude of homemade varieties as well as crafts, jewelry, knitwear, and more. All proceeds of the event, sponsored by Chapter C-RI of P.E.O. International, support women's education. Open sales and free refreshments start at 6 p.m. with the cookie walk starting at 7 p.m.

2.  Support North Kingstown High School basketball tomorrow night with the 2nd Annual NKHS Madness event. For $10 per person, enjoy a delicious pasta dinner plus three basketball games – varsity, JV and alumni games. There will also be a raffle and hoops contest. Proceeds benefit the school's freshman boys and girls basketball program. Runs from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday.

3.  Stony Lane Elementary School is holding its Winter Bazaar on Saturday at 10 a.m. Check out handcrafted jewelry, holiday centerpieces, gourmet dog treats, children's books, purses, hats, scarves, airbrushed tattoos and much more. Runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the school.

4.  Don't care about the difference between a Holiday Tree and a Christmas tree? Want to air some grievances? Stop by the Pink Chair on Thursday, Dec. 13 for Twenty40's Festivus party, open to all young professionals in the area. Admission is $10 and gets you a drink voucher, food, networking and some Festivus cheer. Learn more here.
