5 Things: Christmas Carol Night, Wine Tastings & More

Five things to know for Dec. 14.

1.  Festival of Lights may be over, but the holiday spirit is still alive and kicking in Wickford Village. Head over to Beach Rose Cafe tonight for Christmas Carol Night, with live music from violinist Pat Peterson and more. Word on the street is Santa will also be making an appearance. Runs from 7 to 9 p.m.

2.  Stop by Wickford Package Store tonight for a special wine tasting. Local historian Tim Cranston will be debuting his new book, the third volume of "Walking in Old Wickford." Stop by the packy from 5 to 7 p.m. to get a signed copy and sample some wines for the holidays.

3.  Support the high school's fine arts classes and get some great gifts for the holidays this Saturday. Stop by North Kingstown High School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a holiday craft show, featuring works from local crafters and vendors. Learn more here.

4.  Head over to Slocum Grange tomorrow morning for a special Merry Christmas Breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. The menu consists of French toast, eggs, bacon or sausage, cheese omelet, home fries, johnny cakes and more. Price is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children and free for kids under 5.

5.  Today: sunny with highs near 48. Tonight: partly cloudy with lows around 32. Tomorrow: mostly sunny with highs near 42.
