5 Things: Children and Pets Perform

Here are 5 Things to know in North Kingstown today.


1. The North Kingstown Recreation Department and the Missoula Children’s Theatre are scheduled to hold auditions on Monday, August 13 from 1-3 p.m. for the group's upcoming performance of The Tortoise Versus The Hare. Preregistration is required for this audition. Children 6 to 16 years old can participate.

The performance will take place on Saturday, August 18 at 4 and 7 p.m. at North Kingstown High School.

Tickets for the performance can be purchased at the NK Recreation Office at Town Hall prior to the performance or at the door the day of the performance.

2. Looking for something fun to do with the little ones to help tame the dog days of summer? Take them to story time at , 481 Davisville Road, today at 10 a.m.

3. Get your four-legged friends to say “Cheese!” , 3700 Quaker Lane, is holding its first photo contest starting Aug. 1.

The categories are: Cute, Funny, Best Outfit, Most Athletic and Best Friend. A photographer can enter each category once, each photo can only be entered into one category. Entries will be accepted throughout August. Voting will take place during September.

Bring in a 4 by 6 inch photo of your favorite animal and it could win you up to a $100 gift card.
