5 Things: Budget Adoption, Closed Lanes & More

Five things to know for May 1.

1.  Budget discussions continue as the North Kingstown Town Council looks to approve fiscal 2013's budget tonight. Today's meeting, starting at 6:30 p.m. at town hall, will not feature a time for public comment. If needed, the council will also meet tomorrow night (same time and location) to adopt the budget.

2.  The North Kingstown Planning Commission meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Wickford Middle School library. Click here for the agenda.

3.  The sweep is on! The State Department of Transportation will be sweeping local streets tomorrow, among them Route 138. From 9 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. tomorrow morning, there will be various lane closures from Route 138 at Route 1 in North Kingstown to the Pell Bridge toll in Jamestown.

5.  Today: showers likely before 4 p.m. with highs near 54. Tonight: a chance fo showers before 8 p.m. with fog and lows around 46. Tomorrow: a slight chance of showers before 10 a.m. then a chance of drizzle in the afternoon with partly sunny skies later and highs near 60.
