5 Things: Bonds Denied, Volunteer Night & Arts Council

Five things to know for Sept. 14.

  1. Voters defeated two bonds in yesterday's special election. Bonds to convert Wickford Elementary School into a joint town hall and school administrative building (worth $3.85 million) and another to install artificial turf at McGinn Park were both shot down. Voters, however, did give the go-ahead for the town to sell Wickford Elementary School. .
