  1. Congratulations to Saunderstown's Elizabeth Beisel, who won a gold medal yesterday in the 400-meter individual medley at the world swimming championships in Shanghai. The 18-year-old North Kingstown High School grad finished with a winning time of 4:31.78, a new textile world record. 
  2. Head over to the tonight for a free movie. Tonight's flick is rated PG and running 117 minutes. Starts of at 6 p.m. tonight.
  3. Need to entertain the youngsters this morning? Head over to the North Kingstown Free Library for , geared toward children 12 to 24 months old, today at 10 a.m. This program features finger plays and music followed by toy time. Register by 401-294-3306.
  4. The North Kingstown Historic District Commission meets tonight at 7 p.m. at the conference room.
  5. Today will be partly sunny with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected in the afternoon. It'll be a humid day with highs in the upper 80s. Tomorrow, expect more sun with highs in the mid 80s.
