5 Things: Beach Passes, Grand Openings & More

Today's five essentials.

  1. Plan on hitting the beaches this summer? . The Department of Environmental Management will continue to charge last year's prices until early June when the proposed fee hikes are expected. You can purchase a beach pass at the DEM Parks & Recreation Headquarters at 2321 Hartford Pike in Johnson Monday through Friday's from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (cash or check only) or at Scarborough North, Roger Wheeler and Misquamicut state beaches Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (all forms of payment accepted.)
  2. The North Kingstown Wickford Plan Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. tonight at the conference room. The committee will see a presentation on the Hussey Bridge.
  3. We have two grand openings this week. Tomorrow Kingstown Crossing – the new apartment complex for along Devils Foot Road – hosts a with U.S. Representative James Langevin and U.S. senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse. Kicks off at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning. On Saturday, celebrates its Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  4. Congrats to the North Kingstown girls sailing team who successfully defended its state title yesterday!
  5. Sunny skies today? Guess again. More rain is expected today, mainly before 8 a.m. Friday, yup you guessed it: another chance of showers is expected with mostly cloudy skies with highs up the lower 60s.
